The Endless Beaver is depicted on the cover. It’s a good album albeit derivative and sometimes unfocused. About 7 strong songs there so I’m happy with it.

Now to more serious matters, the new Bloodbath album is out, The Fathomless Mastery. It rapes the souls of christians and drops them into the pits of Hell.

The follow-up to the excellent Unblessing the Purity EP shows that Bloodbath is now more than a sideproject of Jonas, Blakkheim & friends; it’s a beast that stands on its own two feet, which it also uses to stomp on christians.

Also, one of the greatest metal bands in history, Voivod, has started playing shows again – the first after Piggy’s tragic death in 2005. Original bassist Blacky is back, and on guitar there’s the guy from fellow Canadians Martyr. Their first show was at some festival in Canada – here’s a vid of ‘Astronomy Domine’, featuring Piggy’s awesome guitar:
